Located at an elevation of 6,225 feet and surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Range, Lake Tahoe is a unique and beautiful destination for open water swimming. Choose from one of the three sanctioned courses – the True Width (12 miles/19.3 km), the Vikingsholm (10.6 miles/17.1 km), and the Length (21.3 miles/34.3 km). Successfully complete all three courses to earn the Lake Tahoe Open Water Swimming Association’s “Lake Tahoe Triple Crown” award.

Choose from three sanctioned marathon swim courses – the Length (21.3-Miles / 34.3-Km), True Width (12-Miles /19.3-Km), and Vikingsholm (10.6-Miles /17.1-Km). Swim all three courses (solo) to earn the Lake Tahoe Open Water Swimming Association’s “Lake Tahoe Triple Crown” of open water swimming award.
Swim as a solo, tandem, relay, or two-way (round-trip). This provides many options for all levels of swimmers. If you aren’t ready for a solo, get a team of 2-6 people for a Tahoe relay.
